Update Oct 2007

I am happy to be sending you some news of Rinpoche’s relic stupa. Most of the parts of the stupa are completed. We still need to get the precious and semiprecious stones cut to size to fit their respective places. Then the different parts will be assembled and once the stupa is completed, it will be taken to Dharamsala. Rinpoche’s remains have been pulverized and will be deposited in the stupa which will then be placed in Rinpoche’s room.

Regarding commemorating Rinpoche’s passing away, Alak Rinpoche has suggested that our focus will be Lama Tsongkhapa day. Last year December 15th coincided with Lama Tsongkhapa day, but this year December 15th is an inauspicious day. Therefore we will commemorate the passing away on Lama Tsongkhapa day. Prayers will be offered in Kirti Monastery in Dharamsala and Taktshang Lhamo in Tibet. You can participate by offering Lama Choepa with tsog and reciting the King of Prayers, but of course any virtuous activity and practice performed on that day can be equally dedicated towards meeting again Rinpoche’s reincarnation.
