Pilgrimage Series

FPMT Education is happy to announce a new series of pilgrimage guides to the holy places of India/ Nepal, China, and Tibet. Each volume in this three-part series will contain commentary on the purpose of pilgrimage and how to make it most meaningful, Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s heart practices to be done on pilgrimage, the history and significance of each site, as well as pilgrimage texts never before translated from the Tibetan.

The first volume, available soon, will introduce sixty pilgrimage sites in India and Nepal, including the holy sites of Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, death, enlightenment, and the places where he gave his most treasured teachings.

The second volume will guide pilgrims to the holy places of Tibet, including the Jokhang in Lhasa and the sites of Mt. Kailash, Srekhar, Tsari and many more.

The final volume will introduce Wu Tai Shan, the sacred mountain of Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom. This volume will include a text composed by the previous incarnation of Situ Rinpoche, containing inspiring stories of Chinese monks and their experiences while doing pilgrimage at this most holy and powerful place of pilgrimage.
